Chess — the unrivaled champion of strategy games — has attracted players of all ages for countless centuries. BATTLE vs. CHESS is based on the simple but ingenious concept of creating a fusion of professional chess software and dynamic, battle-oriented game mechanics, complemented by richly animated pieces. At the start of a match, everything seems fairly simple: a three-dimensional game board pits two opponents against each other in a seemingly ordinary game of chess. The game board itself is set in one of six available locations, each with its own unique landscape and design features. The traditionally familiar game pieces have been given an updated look: massive stone golems and fierce chimeras have replaced the usual rook and knight respectively.
