About the game:
The game Copycat touches on such delicate topics as family trauma, abandonment, and other complex emotional situations. If you are going through difficult times, remember that you are not alone. Seek support from friends, family, or a professional. Take care of yourself and play at your own pace.
Copycat is a narrative indie game about a pet learning to cope with abandonment, and a person forced to let go. Together, two souls embark on a journey to discover the meaning of family and home. The game's colorful graphics delight the senses while exploring dark thematic depths. Ride an emotional roller coaster that will touch your soul and remind you what it feels like to be abandoned.
We follow the story of Dawn, a skeptical shelter cat who would rather live in the wild than be taken into a family again. Dawn truly considers herself a wild cat and plans to escape as soon as the opportunity arises.
Dawn begins to have doubts when she meets her new owner Olive, a lonely elderly Australian woman mourning the disappearance of her beloved furry pet. Together, Dawn and Olive form a close friendship, their broken hearts heal, and they learn to beat as one.
Everything changes when Olive falls ill, and a stray copycat takes Dawn's place in the house, forcing her out onto the streets.
Roam through alleys, fences, and rooftops, discovering the true meaning of home. The game's unhurried pace allows you to immerse yourself in emotions of love, loneliness, and letting go as you progress through the story.
The game Copycat is fully voiced, contains plenty of dialogue and a talented cast. The original musical score was written by Daniel Bunting.
