Resident Evil 2 — a masterpiece that defined the future of an entire genre — returns so that you can experience a new depth of story impressions. Completely rebuilt on RE Engine, Capcom's proprietary engine, Resident Evil 2 presents a new take on the survival horror genre classic thanks to stunningly realistic graphics, atmospheric sound, a new over-the-shoulder view and modern controls — in addition to the original game's modes.

In Resident Evil 2 you will find everything best from the series' games: classic action, exploration of the game world, whose dangers keep the player on edge, as well as elegant puzzles. Join rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield, whose paths crossed as a result of a fateful epidemic outbreak in Raccoon City that turned the local population into bloodthirsty zombies. Leon and Claire have separate story campaigns, allowing players to see the entire story from both characters' perspectives. Determine the fate of fan-favorite heroes, who will have to act together to survive and get to the true cause of the city catastrophe. Will they make it out alive?

・A blood-chilling reimagining of the horror genre classic: a completely rebuilt game based on the original 1998 version will allow you to experience a new depth of story impressions.

・A completely new perspective: the over-the-shoulder view and improved controls open up a more modern take on the survival horror genre, while the original 1998 game modes invite players to pay tribute to the series' past.

・Frighteningly realistic graphics: thanks to the capabilities of RE Engine, Capcom's proprietary engine, Resident Evil 2 delivers stunning photorealistic visuals, while detailed lighting perfectly conveys the tense atmosphere reigning in the corridors of the Raccoon City Police Department.

・Nightmarish hordes: zombies look real thanks to the terrifyingly believable blood from wounds inflicted on them, allowing the player to feel every bullet flying into them.

・Gameplay that defined the style of the entire series: take part in fierce battles with enemies, explore dark creepy corridors, solve puzzles to access new areas, find and use various items — and feel the horror of the constant struggle for survival.

・Beloved characters in a new appearance: join Leon S. Kennedy on his first day of police service and college student Claire Redfield, who is searching for her brother amid the horrors of a zombie-generating epidemic.

・The opportunity to be in the place of both characters at the beginning of their journey: immerse yourself in the plot of separate campaigns for Leon and Claire and observe the story from different sides.
