About the game: 

In The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria™, the Dwarves embark on a new adventure to reclaim the legendary Moria, hidden beneath the Misty Mountains. Players will need to join forces to survive, craft gear, build, and explore the famous bottomless mines. Brave travelers must stay vigilant, as mysterious dangers await them in the grim depths.

Players will lead a company of Dwarves who, by order of Lord Gimli, Keeper of the Lock, must journey to the Misty Mountains and reclaim the lost spoils from the Dwarves' homeland — Moria, known as Khazad-dûm or Dwarrowdelf. In search of treasure, they will have to show resilience and descend into the depths of the ancient mines.

In procedurally generated Moria, no two adventures are alike. Each expedition can be completed either solo or online with companions. Players can mine minerals and craft the best gear and resources, but the noise from mining threatens to awaken dangers lurking in the silent abyss. Uncover the secrets of the three legendary mountains, mine precious metals, try to survive, and fight indescribable forces to discover the secret of the Shadow lurking within.

• Become part of the Fellowship. Feel like part of the Fellowship of Dwarves: the rich history of J. R. R. Tolkien's legendary fantasy world is woven into the fabric of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria.

• Survive in the darkness. To survive in the treacherous mines of Moria, players must conserve resources, hunt and gather food, as well as monitor sleep, temperature, and noise levels. Fight indescribable evil, engage in brutal battles with hordes of monstrous orcs, and uncover the mystery of the Shadow lurking in the mountains.

• Build a base. Find shelter in the darkness. Discover and clear new spaces for grand construction. Get creative and build a base from scratch or improve existing structures. Beware of the evil that seeks to destroy all the fruits of Dwarven labor.

• Rebuild Moria and change its appearance. Restore the long-lost ancient kingdom of Khazad-dûm to its former glory and uncover the historical monuments of the Dwarves as the story progresses. Revive old mines and restart forges to obtain untouched resources.

• Explore. Descend into the depths of the mines of Moria. In the procedurally generated environment, players will find many resources, mysteries, and dangers, and will be able to get a unique gameplay experience every time.

• Cooperative play. Play solo or team up with friends in online cooperative play.

• Create Dwarven tools, weapons, and more. Craft and find legendary Dwarven armor, tools, weapons, and structures. Upgrade ancient forges to strengthen, repair, and enchant gear. Discover and upgrade new technologies and fantastic machines.

• Find magical artifacts. Search for ancient magical items: swords that glow when orcs are near, maps of long-forgotten mithril veins, books of lost blueprints, and amulets that grant strength or wisdom.

• Mine ore and gems. Build mines in search of deposits of precious resources — iron, gold, and quartz, as well as unique materials such as mithril. Gain access to workbenches and forges to turn ore into ingots and improve gear. But do not forget that noisy mining work can awaken the inhabitants of the abyss.

• Comprehensive Dwarf creator. To become part of the Legend of the Dwarves, players will be able to create their own Dwarf in the character creator. The Dwarf's appearance can be customized in detail to create a unique Dwarven personality. During the game, players will be able to find and craft armor and weapons to emphasize their Dwarf's unique style.
