It will become harder to drive down advertising prices: Meta's new bot will tell bloggers the real cost of posts

Meta has revealed details about how its Muse AI agent will work for content creators on Instagram. The system connects directly to the profile and helps manage the page: it tracks audience activity, finds brands for advertising and checks how much they offer for posts compared with the rates of other bloggers.

The update primarily concerns bloggers, creators and brands that run their own pages and sell advertising on Instagram.

For those who buy advertising from influencers, the introduction of such tools changes communication with bloggers: they will be able to check the real cost of advertising more quickly using Instagram's own data.

What the Muse AI agent can do

Muse — is Meta's personal AI agent that can perform actions inside the company's services on behalf of the user. To start using it, the creator must confirm the system's access to their Instagram account data.

Once connected, Muse collects the platform's internal analytics and generates content recommendations. The agent prepares reports on profile activity, sets reminders for publications and suggests topics that may interest the audience.

In addition to working with content, the agent helps earn money from advertising. Muse can find brands for joint projects and compare incoming advertising offers with average market rates. This means the creator can immediately see whether the proposed budget matches the market price before even replying to the message.

Action control and protection from account blocks

Since the agent gets access to profile management, there is a risk of losing the account. Any action performed by the automated agent that violates Instagram's rules may result in the page being blocked.

To prevent such situations, Meta added a mandatory confirmation system. Users can configure rules so that the agent does not perform key actions without the page owner's approval.

At the same time, Meta notes that user trust will determine whether people connect Muse at all. Creators will have to decide how safe it is to hand over incoming messages and the management of commercial data to a third-party algorithm.

Who the update will affect

The feature primarily concerns small and medium-sized creators who manage their accounts independently without the help of third-party managers. The agent analyzes incoming messages itself and helps filter out spam and unprofitable brand requests more quickly.

The appearance of Muse will affect the influencer marketing market indirectly. If bloggers get permanent access to Meta's internal analytics on average rates, it will become harder to buy advertising from them at reduced prices.
