About the game:
The long-awaited sequel to one of the highest-rated RPGs of 2022, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, takes players to the Starward Belt — a richly detailed, dilapidated collection of habitats in an asteroid belt, full of secrets, stories, and characters trying to make ends meet.
You are a sleeper, an emulation of a human mind placed in an artificial body. You are hiding from the corporation that created you, and from a gang seeking to control you. Take control of a ship, build a network of crew and allies, and complete complex contracts as you strive to build a future for yourself.
Choose a class, customize your skills, and assemble a team in unique gameplay inspired by tabletop games. Your future depends on the roll of the dice, as you will have to make difficult decisions in a tangled world. Reimagining the award-winning systems of Citizen Sleeper, this dice-based RPG will satisfy both fans of the original game and new players.
SHIP, CREW, CONTRACT
To stay one step ahead of your pursuers, you will need three things: a ship worthy of the Belt, a close-knit crew, and one or two contracts.
The ship you stole. It is a battered old rig that has seen better days, but it is all you have. Upgrade your ship to increase its range, reach new places, and turn it from a shack into a home.
Your crew starts with Serafin, your escape companion and reliable pilot. But you will need scrap collectors, engineers, and all sorts of others to do the work that keeps you flying. From temporary contractors to new rig residents, each of these characters has their own story, skills, and problems. Choose carefully.
Contracts are carried out far from the bars and shops of the Belt's many hubs. Each of these high-risk jobs has its own challenges. From exploring treacherous abandoned ships and risky heists to asteroid exploration and vessel repairs — you will need to make the most effective use of your skills, team, and resources to complete the contract and get paid.
STAY AHEAD OF THE PAST
Soon after escaping your corporate bosses, you fell under the control of a local criminal group and its leader, Laine. Now, after a desperate attempt to free yourself from slavery by rewriting the very code that runs your system, you are on the run again, this time with a malfunctioning body, a bounty on your head, and no memories of the past.
TEST YOURSELF
Each character class now has a unique “Push” ability that can be upgraded and customized. It can help you turn the tide of a difficult task or drag you into a dangerous spiral, depending on how and when you decide to use it. Reroll dice to change your fate, or focus one die to stake everything on a big success. Each class offers different tactical possibilities.
REBOOT / RECOVER / REPAIR
In the asteroid Belt, nothing works smoothly, including your artificial body. The revolutionary dice-roll system from Citizen Sleeper returns, reworked for the sequel. Manage your stress or take damage from dice. Deal with glitches that accumulate in your system. Try your luck and make this cycle meaningful.
COMPLETE THE JOB, GET PAID
Contracts offer a new kind of focused, tactical gameplay in Citizen Sleeper. You will need to prepare carefully and choose the right approach to these multi-cycle, high-risk but high-paying assignments, but you will also have to react and adapt to both the roll of the dice and the twists and surprises of each assignment.
TRAVEL THROUGH THE STARWARD BELT
The Starward asteroid Belt offers a larger and more diverse world than the original game. Instead of living on one station, you will chart a course from hub to hub with complete freedom, taking on assignments and setting goals at your discretion. A living world, the Belt rewards curiosity and care, but only you decide which locations and stories deserve your time and resources.
CHOOSE YOUR FUTURE
Player choice is an important part of Citizen Sleeper gameplay, and the sequel deepens this through new skill checks that allow you to express your class and character in scenes, as well as branching storylines that will require you to make difficult decisions.
