Playtech subsidiary VSTechnology Limited has obtained a license from the local regulator GCGRA and entered the official registry of gaming vendors and suppliers. The company can now supply gaming software and platforms to future licensed operators.
The GCGRA registry currently lists 23 suppliers. The regulator continues issuing approvals and gradually laying the groundwork for the launch of a legal iGaming market.
How the UAE Is Opening Its iGaming Market
The UAE is taking a deliberate approach to launching its market. It is systematically establishing the legal and technical foundation: first by forming a dedicated regulator, the GCGRA, and then by issuing licenses to software and equipment vendors. The next phase will involve licensing operators and launching the country's first legal casinos.
One of the primary flagship projects will be the Wynn Resorts development on Al Marjan Island in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, which is set to host the country's first legal casino.
What This Means for Affiliate Marketing
The UAE is considered one of the most promising GEOs for iGaming due to its high population purchasing power and massive tourist traffic. If the regulator maintains its current pace of opening the market, the country could become one of the most lucrative destinations in legal iGaming.
While licensing is currently restricted to B2B suppliers, the direction is clear. As licensed operators go live, the market will start filling up with new offers, allowing affiliate marketers to work with fully compliant organic traffic.
