The First Licensed iGaming Operators Have Appeared in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan has finally started issuing licenses to companies that want to operate legally in the local iGaming market. Olimpbet and Oltinbet were the first to receive approval from NAPP. The licenses came into effect on July 31.

Why It Took So Long

Gambling was legalized in the country on January 1, 2025. But the law alone was not enough — operators had to obtain licenses before entering the market.

The requirements turned out to be quite strict. Companies must have authorized capital of at least $4.5 million, establish a reserve fund for player payouts, and meet several other regulatory requirements. That is why the first licenses have only now been issued.

What Will Change in the Market

In fact, the market is only beginning to operate. Until now, there were no legal operators in the country, even though the legal framework was already in place.

New local offers, affiliate programs, and advertising campaigns targeting Uzbekistan can now be expected. However, the market is unlikely to grow quickly — not everyone will be able to obtain a license, so there will most likely be only a few major players at the start.
