Multi-accounting

Multi-accounting — is the creation and use of multiple accounts on the same platform by one person or an entire team.

In traffic arbitrage, multi-accounting — is a standard working tool. Most advertising networks limit the number of advertising campaigns that can be run from one profile or strictly monitor limits. To scale their work, bypass blocks and launch advertising from different accounts at the same time, affiliate marketers register or buy dozens of profiles.

How platform protection works

Platforms actively fight multi-accounting, since the rules of most services allow only one personal or work profile. To identify a person who manages an entire network of accounts, security systems analyze the digital «fingerprint» (device, browser, operating system), IP address, payment data and behavior patterns.

What affiliate marketers use

To prevent advertising networks from linking all profiles together and blocking them at once, affiliate marketers use specialized technical tools:

  • Antidetect browsers: programs that spoof device parameters and create unique digital fingerprints (antidetect profiles), so platforms see each account as a separate user from a new computer.

  • Proxies: servers that change the real IP address for each profile so that all accounts do not connect to the internet from the same point.

Important: multi-accounting itself is not a violation of the law, but it violates the terms of service of most online platforms and advertising networks. Therefore, working with multiple accounts always requires technical masking.
