Offer (Offer) — is an advertiser’s proposal that an affiliate marketer promotes for a reward. It can be a product, online service, mobile application, game, financial service, subscription and much more.
Each offer has its own terms: GEO, permitted traffic sources, target action, payout amount and other requirements.
What Is Included in an Offer
The offer description usually specifies:
-
target action — what the user must do: register, submit an application, make a deposit, place an order, etc.;
-
payout — how much the affiliate receives for the completed action;
-
GEO — which countries the traffic is accepted from;
-
traffic sources — where users can or cannot be brought from;
-
restrictions — for example, a ban on brand bidding, incentivized traffic or certain advertising formats;
-
cap — a limit on the number of leads, deposits or other target actions over a certain period.
The terms depend on the specific offer and advertiser.
Offers in Traffic Arbitrage
An affiliate marketer selects an offer, sends traffic to it and receives a payout for users who complete the required action.
For example, in iGaming, the target action may be registration with a first deposit, in nutra — a confirmed order, and in finance — an approved application.
The same offer may operate under different payment models. For example, under CPA, the affiliate receives a fixed amount for a target action, while under RevShare — a percentage of the advertiser’s revenue from the referred user.
Where Offers Are Found
Offers can be obtained through affiliate programs and CPA networks or directly from the advertiser. An affiliate network usually provides access to many offers from different companies at once, while when working directly, the terms are agreed with the advertiser.
Important to Know
Before launching an offer, its terms and restrictions are checked. If traffic is brought from a prohibited source or other advertiser requirements are violated, such conversions may not be paid.
The offer’s rate, cap, available GEOs and other terms may also change. Therefore, before launching and scaling, it is better to check the current information in the affiliate program or with the manager.
