Gemini 3.5 Flash released: ultra-fast AI model is now available for everyone for free

At its annual conference, Google officially presented its next-generation neural network lineup, Gemini 3.5. Gemini 3.5 Flash became the first in the lineup. The developers stated that this new release made a huge leap in speed and capabilities, becoming the most powerful and fastest in the company's history.

Most importantly — the model is already available to all users for free.

Faster and smarter than competitors

The main feature of the 3.5 Flash version is its incredible speed. It generates answers nearly four times faster than similar top AI models on the market. At the same time, according to test results in programming, logic, and analysis, the lightweight and fast Flash model outperformed the flagship Gemini 3.1 Pro version.

The neural network delivers a quality of work that was previously only available to large enterprise AIs. It can write complex code on the fly, assemble working applications, process heavy financial documents, and analyze text, images, video, and audio.

What the neural network can do now

  • Gemini Spark personal assistant. Instead of a regular chatbot, Google is launching a fully-fledged background agent based on Gemini 3.5. You can delegate boring routines to it — for example, monitoring flight prices around the clock, extracting important tasks from work chats, or compiling reports from a pile of emails in Gmail. You can completely turn off your laptop or smartphone, and the AI will continue executing your task in the background.

  • Complete app redesign. Google has completely rewritten the look and feel of the Gemini app. Now, instead of dull sheets of text, the neural network delivers answers in beautiful interactive cards. If you ask it to plan a vacation, the AI will assemble a clickable map with routes right inside the chat.

  • The neural network writes an operating system in 12 hours. At the presentation, Google showed the real power of the model. Right on stage, the developers launched the Antigravity 2.0 platform, where 93 independent AI agents work simultaneously. The neural network team was given the task of writing a working operating system from scratch. The AI managed it in just 12 hours.

  • For the sake of the show, engineers tried to run the legendary game DOOM on this new system. The game crashed instantly because the AI forgot to include keyboard drivers. The developer said into the microphone: “Add the drivers,” and the neural network fixed the code live on screen within a couple of seconds, allowing the game to launch successfully.

While users worldwide are already fully testing Gemini 3.5 Flash for free, Google is already preparing the next model for release. The heavier, deeper, and more advanced Gemini 3.5 Pro is currently undergoing closed internal testing. Its full launch and integration into all of the company's services are scheduled for next month.
