Google is testing a new homepage interface for users who are not logged in. The familiar «Google Search» button is no longer under the search bar — quick AI tools have appeared in its place.
Instead of the familiar transition to search results, Google immediately offers to provide a ready-made answer, generate ideas or analyze a file directly on the homepage.

What Features Have Appeared Under the Search Bar
In the test version, users who are not logged in are offered to select a task immediately. The following tools have appeared in the block under the search bar:
-
Ask about files — uploading documents for analysis and answers based on their content without logging into an account;
-
Brainstorm — generating ideas and solution options based on the task description;
-
Create images — creating images from a text prompt (authorization is requested when clicked).
AI Mode is now built directly into the search bar. At the same time, after logging into a Google account, the interface returns to its familiar appearance, and the AI buttons under the search bar disappear.
What This Means for Websites and SEO
If Google rolls out this interface to everyone, it may affect SEO and traffic from search:
-
Zero clicks. If a person receives an answer, analyzes a file or generates ideas directly on the homepage, they simply do not visit websites from the search results.
-
Inclusion in AI answers. For websites, it is becoming more important to appear in the sources and citations of AI answers than simply compete for top positions for keywords.
Google is currently testing the new interface with a limited audience of users who are not logged in. If this version becomes the main one, even fewer users will reach the regular search results.
