On October 7, OpenAI launched access to the GPT-6 language model and the Intelligent UI dynamic interface system. The update primarily affects paid subscribers on the Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise plans using the GPT-6 Sol model.
For users on free accounts and the Go plan, access to the GPT-6 Luna model begins on October 8.
What Intelligent UI is and why chat needs interactivity
The developers have moved away from exclusively text-based responses. Now the model determines the best way to present information based on the user's request: regular text, an interactive chart, a comparison table or a functional mini-tool.
Interactive calculators, timelines and mini-games shown in the announcement demonstrate how the dynamic interface technology works. Users can click buttons, move sliders in diagrams and change data in forms directly within the conversation, getting instant recalculations without sending new text prompts.
At the same time, the text format has been retained for basic tasks. If users do not need graphical elements, they can disable the display of visual widgets in the interface settings.
Parallel reasoning and response speed
The second key change affects the response generation process. With previous models using deep reasoning, users had to wait dozens of seconds while the system completed its calculations in the background.
In GPT-6, reasoning and response generation have been combined into a single stream. The model starts displaying the first lines of text and interface elements while data collection and calculations are still in progress.
As a result, requests involving web searches through GPT-6 Instant deliver the first results 44% faster on average than the GPT-5.6 model.
Who the update will affect
The update primarily affects informational websites, online converters and simple web-based calculation services. Previously, users would turn to search results for a compound interest calculator or an interactive diagram, but now the chatbot itself creates a working utility for a specific task.
For webmasters and SEO specialists, this makes the problem of zero-click searches even more serious. During the official launch, OpenAI did not show exactly how links to original sources would be displayed inside interactive widgets, so traffic from search to external websites will decrease even further.
