xAI launched a closed beta of Grok Bot. These are AI agents that can be given a task without manually describing every subsequent step. The bot opens the required websites and apps on its own, completes the work, and contacts the user if it needs help or confirmation.
Everything happens in the cloud, so the computer does not need to remain turned on after the task is launched. You can close the app and return later for the result.
What Grok Bot can do
Instead of one small command, Grok Bot can be given an entire workflow at once. For example, it can be asked to collect information from several sources, process the data, and prepare a final report.
Agents can currently:
-
work with websites and apps independently;
-
complete tasks consisting of several sequential actions;
-
request confirmation where they cannot continue without the user;
-
run in parallel;
-
share context and work together on a common task.
Before the beta launch, similar agents were tested internally within the company. They were used in marketing, sales, operations, and development.
Multiple bots can be combined into a team
Grok Bot does not have to be run individually. Multiple agents can divide the work among themselves. For example, the first collects information, the second analyzes it, and the third prepares the final result.
The bots pass context to each other, so the user does not have to manually copy data between stages and explain to each agent in turn what has already been done.
Who received access
Grok Bot is currently in beta and available to a limited number of users. SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra, and Cursor Teams Premium subscribers can try the service. A waitlist is open for broader enterprise access.
How well Grok Bot handles long-term autonomous work will become clearer as testing continues. But the idea behind the service is already clear: instead of constantly messaging the neural network, you can give it a task immediately and reconnect when human involvement is required or the result is ready.
